| So almost a decade ago some kids were sitting around in Pennsylvania and they decided to abandon their college educations and play punk rock. Who knew these saplings would grow into being a driving force in the industry that they one once deemed to be above the impossible. Digger seamlessly just wove itself together the second they decided to stick to their guns and do this band thing. In 1996 they performed a live recording on WMUH- NJ. News of this performance traveled so fast out to California into the steady hands of not only fans, but also Hopeless Records. Digger’s independent label history begins. With support they were signed and on track, the work began. Digger poured sweat and tears into their first and most acclaimed debut classic punk record "Powerbait.” A bite you in the face freshman album, kids ate it up. You know the hungry press couldn't deny it either. With the success of their baby record they picked up their pants after the realities of non-stop touring settled bringing those new experiences with them to the studio to create their next opus entitled "The Promise Of An Uncertain Future". At this point Digger took the 3-piece approach coming out with an ineffably mature and compelling new full-length for their already faithful followers. Inevitably they again waved goodbye to all they knew and hauled ass across the world. Now finally with the support of real fans and a label they'd already been part of for four years these hard working boys laid out their next record with an indisputable sense of direction. "Monte Carlo" compiled is 17 tracks of powerful and passionate music, that only the band Digger could give birth to. So what next? They toured again; doing what by now they only knew to do. The story doesn't stop here; the next addition to their family of discography was "Trainwreck" an EP spewing out the same level of diligent dignified lyrics and riffs as "Monte Carlo". By this time, Digger knew no matter what happened to uncertain member changes and normal indecision's that every band must live with, this is what they had to do and they were heard. Now queue back to present time and you've got their latest full-length "Keystone". This is the record that has it's own voice, taking what they've gained musically to the next level. This is the most honest and emotionally charged of their releases, Digger wasn't swayed on this one, and Chris’s vocals found what they'd been searching for. You think I'm done? Nope, not yet, they just released in 2003 "Tattoo Broken Hearts" an EP dedicated to their fans, including live tracks of them on stage, their first and only home. The EP goes worldwide in Europe, Japan, and the U.S.A. Digger has earned everything they've gained and put the reality of indie in independent, busting ass in Europe, Canada and god knows how many tours across the U.S you have to raise your glass to these boys. It takes more than two feet and a heart beat to survive the ups and downs this industry has to offer for over 8 years, but Digger has lived it. All along never chosing the path that everyone follows, instead going where their heart is and digging up their own trail. Digger is classic punk rock at it's finest. |
